EPILOGUE

Putzig was never seen or heard from again after getting separated from the group on their return to Sternberg in late May 1945.

Grandmother Grusla lived with Anna and Lisbeth in Nysa after the war. She died in 1947.

Father Paul Zeh was never seen or heard from again after leaving in early May 1945.

Mother Anna Zeh died in Oberstedten 1962.

Sister Lisbeth lived with her four children, Anna and Grusla in a pig barn in Nysa for 18 months. She met Cashy and they moved back into the Zeh house. She had two children with Cashy. She died in 1986 and is buried in Nysa.

Alois, Lisbeth's first husband, never returned from the war.

Cashy, Lisbeth's second husband, lives in Nysa.

Franz, Mutti's first husband, was killed in 1941 and buried in Russia.

Ernst, Matti's second husband, died in 1963 and was buried in Oberstedten.

Daughter Marianne married Gerald Thomas, moved to America, and became a US citizen. They had three children. In 1986 she married Dennis Ridgeway.

Son Heiner married Sigrid, had two children, and is a photographer/art designer and has his studio in Frankfurt.

Son Jurgen married Heidrun, had two children, and is the manager of a firm in Frankfurt that installs heating and air ventilation systems.

Son Willi married Ute, had two children, and is a salesman of pipeline cleaning equipment for a firm in Frankfurt.
