Louise Martin Hutchings, 97, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018. She was born on
February 2, 1921 in Greenville, Utah to William Porter Martin and Wanda Iretta Easton Martin. She married the love of
her life, Raymond Isaac Hutchings on September 2, 1935 in Beaver, Utah and there she built a life in a town that she
loved. Louise and Raymond were blessed with four children: Monte Ray Hutchings, Iretta Mae Hutchings, Karen Lee Hutchings,
and Martin Easton Hutchings.
Grandma Louise was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had a deep belief in God, her Savior,
and family. She instilled these beliefs into her posterity through her daily example of quietly serving others and exhibiting
kindness.
Louise spent close to 20 years waitressing at the local Ponderosa Café. Grandpa Raymond could often be found enjoying dinner
there, and some additional time with Grandma Weezie. If Grandpa didn’t make it for dinner, Grandma would be seen taking home a
box of “broasted” chicken to share with her family for a late-night snack.
Ten years ago, she relocated to Fillmore to live with Gene and Karen. She spent many hours creating scrap books, quilts for
her grandchildren, following grandkids and great grandkids anywhere and everywhere, and enjoying the Price is Right.
She will be remembered for her Coca Cola habit, enjoyment of horse races, dedication to family, and her love for Christmas.
Additionally, she will be incredibly missed for her smile, wisdom, genuine love for life, and spunk.
Louise is survived by two of her children: Karen (Eugene) Lund of Fillmore and Mart Hutchings (Vicki) of Beaver. Grandma Hutch
is also survived and loved by ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and twenty-seven great great grandchildren.
Proceeded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, and two of her children: Monte Hutchings (Brenda, living) and
Iretta McMullin. She is also proceeded in death by Clair McMullin (Son-in-law) and Danny McMullin (Grandson).
She was loved by all she interacted with and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Friends and family may call at the
Beaver 3rd Ward Building on Saturday morning from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29th in
the Beaver 3rd Ward Building, 220 North Main Street, at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Beaver Cemetery, under the care of
Southern Utah Mortuary.
The family would like to thank the staff of Fillmore Medical Center for the wonderful care they provided Grandma Great during
her stay at their facility.
