James Clifford Williams

October 9, 1924 - September 23, 2007

James Clifford "Cliff" Williams, our beloved father, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2007 in the Beaver Valley Hospital from an extended illness.

He was born on October 9, 1924 in Greenville, Utah. He was the first born son to David James and Lillian Martin Williams. His delightful childhood was spent among loving aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents in the little farming community of Greenville where the pace of life was relaxed and carefree for a young boy. He graduated from Beaver High School in 1943.

After serving in the United State Army during World War II he returned home to marry his sweetheart Arlene White on September 5, 1946 with his father officiating the ceremony. They made it look so great that almost every young man that returned from the service grabbed a sweetheart and married. The union was later solemnized in the St. George Temple.

Cliff was a sales representative for Chevron USA for 36 years. He had a good work ethic, good integrity, and loved to call his mom "Doll" as he helped his parents through the years. His beautiful voice was heard on many occasions from his high school years until his recent illness. Two of his favorites were "Danny Boy", and "The Wonderful Mother of Mine".

He was an active member of the LDS Church where he held offices and positions in his younger years. We love you so very much Dad and we will miss your "I love you's" to each of us. So long until we meet again.

He is survived by his wife Arlene of Cedar City, UT; his four children: Vicki (Sandy) Webster of Cedar City, UT; Dan (Kris) Williams of Beaver, UT; Jim Williams of Ely, NV; Kathleen Mosdell of Cedar City, UT; his sister Helen Christiansen of Beaver, UT; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Betty Beeson, and one brother Colan Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Cedar 2nd Ward located at 212 West 200 South in Cedar City, Utah. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary, and on Thursday, September 27, 2007 from 9:30-10:30 at the Cedar City 2nd Ward Church. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, Utah.

I am the resurrection and the Life, Saith the Lord:
He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.

I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
and though his body be destroyed, yet shall I see GOD:
whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not as a stranger.

We brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
The LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. AMEN
