Clair Baldwin McMullin passed away on March 31, 2013 in Beaver, Utah at the age of 73. He was
born June 27, 1939 to Clarence and Dora McMullin in Beaver, Utah. He attended Belknap Elementary
School through 6th grade, and then attended Beaver High School where he graduated in 1957.
He married his high school sweetheart, Iretta Mae Hutchings in Beaver, Utah on September 26,
1958. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple in 1962.
Clair's best known for his great home cooking in several local restaurants including the Ponderosa
Café, McMullin Café, and the Garden of Eat'n. He was also involved in the community throughout his
life with the Jaycees and the Little League Association. During his involvement with the Little
League, he was able to work with the youth of the community where he was looked up to by many and
still respected today for his impact on the Little League organization. Through his community
involvement he was awarded the Honorary Citizen Award in 2010.
One of his hobbies was gardening. He loved to grow gardens and plant flowers, and took pride
in the looks of his yard. In August 2010, his dahlias won 1st place in the Beaver County Fair.
His flowers and yard were always something that he was very proud of.
One of his greatest loves was the outdoors. This past year he had the opportunity of a lifetime,
he drew out for the Southwest Desert Elk Tag. He was able to enjoy this experience hunting with his
family. His love for the outdoors is being carried on through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his children: Debbie (Wayne) Olpin of Twin Falls, Idaho; Mike (Jeana) McMullin of
Minersville, Utah; and Jeffrey (Ginger) McMullin of Beaver, Utah. His grandchildren: Wesley (Shawnte)
McMullin of Beaver, Utah; Megan (Tommy) Smith of Beaver, Utah; Emberlee (Mike) Wortman of Sparks,
Nevada; Ashley (Ryan) Olsen of Reno, Nevada; Misty Olpin (Kari Vincent) of Hansen, Idaho; Kasey (Veleta)
Olpin of Jerome, Idaho; and Hilary McMullin of Beaver, Utah. His great-grandchildren: Jexden, Jaide,
Jazlyn, Eli, Kayson, Landon, and Grady. His siblings: Jack (Pam) McMullin, Kay (Doug) Webb, and Mary
Jo McKnight.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Dora McMullin; his sister, Doreen Marshall; his wife,
Iretta Mae Hutchings; and his son, Danny.
Viewing will be held Friday, April 5, 2013 from 6-8PM at the Beaver 3rd Ward Church. Funeral services
will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11:00Am with viewing 1 hour prior to services. Interment is at
Mountain View Cemetery.
