James Dale Cox, 78, returned home to his Heavenly Father and reunited with his sweetheart
on October 2, 2013. He was born on April 14, 1935 in Beaver, Utah to Theodore and Vona Cox.
He married the love of his life, Alice Durell Limb on November 13, 1953 in Beaver, Utah.
They were later sealed in the St. George Temple for time and all eternity. Together they
had four children Kathy, Kevin, Kerry, and Karolyn. Jim was an active member of the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in many church positions including Young Men's
President, High Council, and Bishopric with Bishop Dee Smith and Ken Bettridge. Jim was an
amazing athlete obtaining All-State Honors in Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Tennis.

Jimmy was an all state guard in basketball and quarterback in football. He was also the President of the Senior Class.

He loved the outdoors and cherished the many family reunions at Big John's Flat on Beaver Mountain.
Along with golfing every day with his friends he enjoyed the nightly rides he and Ken Bettridge
would take.
Jim is survived by his children Kathy (Alan) Averett, Kevin (Colette) Cox, Kerry (Francine)
Cox, and Karolyn Cox; sister Lena Rae Rogers; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Jim was
preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Vona Cox and his sweetheart Durell Cox.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 7, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Cedar City 7th-9th ward,
256 South 900 West Cedar City, UT. Friends may call Sunday evening October 6, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm and
again Monday morning October 7 from 9:30 to 10:30 at Southern Utah Mortuary located at 190 North 300
West, Cedar City, UT. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, UT under the
direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Special thanks to the staff at Emerald Point for all of
their love and care.
