Rex Calvin Lish

Rex Calvin Lish passed away June 25, 1987at his home in West Valley City, Utah at the age of 61. Rex was born on April 2, 1926 in Plano, Madison County, Idaho to Seymour Daniel and Marie Sophia Pope Lish. The Pope family moved to Salt Lake City in 1930.

Rex graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah. He served in World War II in the United States Medical Corps. He was stationed in Hawaii and served throughout the South Seas and the Orient.

He married Ann Marie Pearce on June 2, 1948 in Beaver City, Beaver County, Utah. Rex worked for many years for Vitro Mining and Engineering and for the Mining and Safety Appliance Company. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He loved the out-of-doors, enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing, hunting, swimming, diving, and snow skiing. He loved Puffer Lake and the Beaver mountains, spent many wonderful year's there. He had a beautiful singing voice, and loved all music. He was a gourmet cook; excellent gardener; loved to watch his son play baseball and was a Little League coach. He enjoyed his daughter's music and dancing. He was a proud son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

He is survived by his loving mother; dear wife; daughter, Candyce Marie (Bill Fowler), St. George, Utah.

Six brothers and sisters; Gordon E., St. George, Utah, Farrel P., Bountiful, Utah; Mrs. Henry (Iola) Dee, Mrs. Edgar (Barbara) Robbins, both of Ogden, Utah; Mrs. Richard (Helen) Gracie, San Jose, California' Mrs. Paul (Janet) Robinson, Silverdale, Washington;  grandchildren, Katie, Mathew, Kip, and Betsy Fowler, Bill and Candy, St. George, Utah; Jeremy Scott and Bobby, Daniel and Linda; many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother Howard.

Services will be held Saturday, June 27 at 2:00 p. m. at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment in the Salt Lake City cemetery.

     Funeral Arrangements by: Larkin Mortuary.

     Funeral Services at: 2:00 p.m., June 27, 1987.

     Buried at: Salt Lake City Cemetery, 2000 North Street.
