John Kenneth Cox was born in Beaver City, Beaver County, Utah on April 11, 1902, the second child of Charles R. Cox and Evadna Needacroft. John's brothers and sisters were: Blaine Wesley Cox, born in April 2, 1899, Charles Rich Cox born November 1, 1907, Bernard M. Cox born August 28, 1911 and Ira James Cox, Born December 12, 1916. John Kenneth married Irene Jane Cox on December 6, 1922. Irene died on November 6, 1973 in Garberville, Humboldt County, California and was buried in the Bear River City Cemetery, Tremonton, Utah.

John Kenneth Cox and Irene Jane Easton had four children, Kenneth Warren Cox, born on November 18, 1922 in Beaver City, Utah; Douglas Easton Cox, born on August 8, 1929 in Beaver City, Charles Ray Cox born on May 3, 1932 in Beaver City, and Mona Lee also born in Beaver City. Kenneth Warren died on June 20, 2008 in Gallipolis, Gallia County, Ohio, Charles Ray died on March 19, 1999 in Garberville, Humboldt County, California and Douglas Easton died on August 2, 1971 in Garberville, Humbolt County, California.
