Lucy Evans was the fourth wife of James Miller, his first wife was Margaret Anderson and his second wife was Susan Lavender and his third wife was Levenia Andrus. James was the third child born to Charles Stewart Miller and Mary McGowan and was born in Rutherglen, Lanarkshire, Scotland.

Lucy's first husband was David Hugh Davis who was born on January 27, 1825 and died on January 4, 1878 at the age of 52.David and Lucy were married on December 13, 1862 in Salt Lake City Territory, Utah. Lucy married James Miller on September 28, 1894 in Spanish Fork, Utah County, Utah.

James, his father and mother along with ten brothers and sisters left Scotland in 1848 and spent six weeks crossing the ocean landing in New Orleans, Louisiana. From there, they traveled up the Mississippi River to St. Louis, Missouri.

James Miller was very lonley after his wife Margaret Ann Passed away and he was separated from his second wife Aunt Lavenia. Ehey had separated in about 1885. One of his dearest friends, David H. Davis, his bookkeeper in the Spanish Fork COOP, had also died. His children had all married and had left. He and Lucy Davis, David H. Davis's widow decided to go to the Temple and be married for time only. The were companionable and happy for eleven years before Lucy passed away.

While they were together they raised a lovely old fashioned garden, may of us remember the old fashioned Roses, Blue Flags, Lardspur, Old Man and Sweet Balm, Canterbury Bells and Sweet William. We all had many pleasant visits in their small home. The following is a copy of the invitation to their Wedding Reception.
