Daniel Easton Martin

In memory of Daniel Easton Martin who was born on November 25, 1927 to William Porter Martin and Wanda Iretta Easton in Greenville, Beaver County, Utah.

Daniel was the sixth child of seven and his brothers and sisters were: Porter Othello "Thel" Martin who was born on April 30, 1916 in Greenville, Beaver County, Utah and died on September 10, 2002 in the Beaver City, hospital. A sister Reva Martin who was born on December 5, 1917 and died on December 8, 1917 in Greenville; a brother William Samuel Martin who was born on December 4, 1918 in Greenville and died on August 24, 1977 in Beaver City, Beaver County, Utah; a sister Nina Rae Martin who was born on May 15, 1923 in Milford, Beaver County, Utah and died on May 28, 1996 in Milford; a sister Virginia Martin who was born on June 9, 1925 in Greenville, Beaver County, Utah and died on February 14, 1988 in Hurricane, Dixie County, Utah, a brother John Mitchel "Mitch" Martin who was born in 1929 in Greenville, Beaver County, Utah and died in on April 17, 2015, Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara County, California; a brother David Ralph Martin who was born on February 2, 1930 in Milford, Beaver County, Utah and died on December 3, 1969 in Beaver City, Utah.

Daniel married Eyvone Davis on September 30, 1949 in Beaver City, Beaver County, Utah. Dan and Eyvone had three children, Danna Kaye Martin, Melonie Ann Martin and David Ray Martin

Dan owned and operated the Ponderosa Cafe on main street in Beaver City. He was a great cook and the resterant was the morning meeting place for the local men to have their coffee and solve all of the worlds problems.

Dan was a fan of horse racing, being part owner in several of the horses and traveled the racing circuit that covered most of Southern Utah and some of Southern Nevada.

After the 9 hole golf course was built in the mouth of the Beaver City canyon, Dan became one of the better golfers in the City and would travel with his golfing buddies to St. George, Utah and Mesquite, Nevada in the winter to play.

Dan loved the Beaver mountains, he would take a small trailer and his horses to Big John's Flat and leave them for the summer. The family would spend as much time as they could, sleeping in the trailer and riding the horses in the mountains.

Daniel Easton Martin died on May 11, 2003 after a long battle with cancer.
